At the Villach innovation location in Austria, Infineon Technologies AG operates a global competence center for power electronics and new semiconductor materials. As part of a site expansion, Infineon is investing 1.6 billion euros in a new, future-oriented clean room factory using 300 millimeter technology. A clean room factory with support and technology buildings for around 400 highly qualified workplaces is being built on an area of around 60,000 m². Construction will start in the first half of 2019 and production is scheduled to start in early 2021.
